African Creatives

Welcome to the Africa Creatives Alliance

We are a Pan-African network advancing the continent's creative economy through a strong coalition of partners and members.

Our work is structured around pillars that drive the creation of dynamic and well-financed creative economies across Africa.

What We Do

Our Core Products

Our work is organized around three integrated core products. Together, they provide clear entry points for engagement while enabling end-to-end support across the creative economy development cycle.

1

Creative Economy Strategy & Advisory

We provide strategic and technical advisory services that support the design and operationalization of creative economy initiatives at national, sub-national, and regional levels.

2

Capacity Building & Implementation Support

We strengthen the capacity of institutions, intermediaries, and enterprises responsible for delivering creative economy outcomes. Our capacity-building work is closely linked to implementation and delivery.

3

Research, Knowledge Products & Platforms

Research and evidence generation underpin all our services. Through our research and knowledge arm, we develop assets that inform policy, investment, and practice across the creative economy.

The Africa Creative Economy Lens (ACEL) is an annual platform that brings together creators, policymakers, investors, and ecosystem enablers to shape the future of Africa’s creative industries.

The 2025 edition was held in Kigali under the theme “Investing in Africa’s Creative Potential for Sustainable Growth,” where stakeholders co-created solutions to strengthen the sector’s sustainability.

Sustainable Urbanization for Africa's Transformation

Strategic Alignment

Aligned with AU Vision 2063, the ACA was launched at the first Africa Urban Forum, marking a significant milestone in harnessing the potential of Africa’s cultural and creative sectors to achieve development and integration goals. Understanding what this process truly entails and raising awareness of how cultural and creative industries can be effectively integrated into various programmes and policies are critical steps. This integration must prioritize the intrinsic growth of the cultural and creative sectors while driving tangible outcomes in other sectors and development areas.
